The (only slightly contrived) moment: Canadian girl, appropriately decked out in a "True North Strong and Free" t-shirt dipping Dutch stroopwafel (purchased by an American friend at an Islamic fundamentalist-backed grocery store) into hometown Canadian coffee in a Jordan Starbucks mug (never been, but it's on the list) served on an Uzbek tea tray (again, never been, but well-travelled roommate = multicultural adornments) while reading a travel story about Vietnam to the tune of Cuban music** on her balcony in Turkey.
**"Cuba, Mi Amor" was the only (mildly) manufactured detail intentionally introduced to the otherwise "as-is" scene for added international embellishment. And it's proving to be the fitting accompaniment to an afternoon of reading travel literature.
